On Friday, the March issue of ASCII MediaWorks‘ Dengeki G’s Magazine published interviews with representatives of several Japanese anime companies about their plans for the coming year. Besides discussing the projects they had already announced, they provided some details of projects that have yet to be revealed.
Geneon Entertainment indicated that the continuation of „‚that [unnamed] title‘ loved by everyone“ will arrive on Japanese television this fall. It will be able to announce the big title(s) at March’s Tokyo International Anime Fair, the semi-annual Comic Market, or the other events held each year. Pony Canyon is anticipating three to four works this summer or later, including at least one continuation of a hit project as well as at least one new project. Starchild plans to adapt two comics into anime at around the beginning of fall. While it cannot announce the details yet, its upcoming lineup will range from already popular series to new moe works.
Media Factory plans to distribute Queen’s Blade, the game-based television anime that will premiere in April, for free on its Media Factory TV channel on the YouTube website, as well as on its official mobile phone website. It is working on three anime projects „full of bishōjo“ with game ties. King Record’s VC production department had announced its Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st project last July. However, the department is asking fans to wait a little longer for more new information. Frontier Works is developing an anime adaptation of a big hit PC game. The avex entertainment company is producing three anime featuring „cute heroines,“ and said it will continue producing „high-quality“ bishōjo anime this year.
Aniplex is adapting „that [unnamed] anime“ into a game, and it is planning various projects for television broadcast and theatrical anime.
